2011 SHOW RECAP: FIRST YEAR SUCCESS
The inaugural edition of the Toronto Luxury Chocolate Show was an unqualified success with more than 2500 chocolate lovers making their way through the rotunda of Roy Thomson Hall. The lineups started early and the visitors kept coming all afternoon.
Exhibitors from as far away as Montreal welcomed visitors with samples of their unique chocolate products while featured chocolatiers demonstrated the art of making chocolate. All Wine & Chocolate pairing sessions were sold out and the lineups for complimentary Chocolate Spa treatments were steady. The Chocolate Book store was also a popular feature with many books being bought for personal use and holiday gift giving.
The evening wrapped up with the annual 911 Chocolate Relay which saw three teams (Toronto Firefighters, Toronto Police and Sheridan’s Public Safety Program) battle it out for the coveted Chocolate Bowl. The competition was fierce and tight. In the end the Firefighters reclaimed their title for a third year in a row and were presented with the trophy and a $1000 prize which was donated to Gilda’s Club Toronto ($500) and Willow Cancer Support ($500) on their behalf.

The show set-up and tear-down timeline was so tight that it took volunteers to work all night and all day. We thank our night shift team especially Mary Baldwin and David DeLuca for giving up their sleep time to prep the show, and the rest of the team for keeping the show run smoothly all day long.
